Story that tells
This product is made from piaçava palm straw, serving as an important source of income for families in the Quilombo de Boitaraca, in Nilo Peçanha, Bahia, Brazil, while also supporting the continued presence of these communities in the region.
The straw is sustainably harvested through challenging climbs, respecting the regeneration time of the plant, which ranges from one and a half to three years.
Both the climbing skills and braiding techniques are passed down from generation to generation, preserving the stories of artisan families and the rich quilombola culture.
The harvested, braided, and embroidered straw is transformed into beautiful baskets, trays, and placemats—unique and exclusive!
Use
It can be used as a sousplat or support for trays and decorative objects.
